Avis detected this breach on 5th August and responded promptly by bringing in cyber security experts to investigate the incident.
When it found out about the attack, Avis Car Rental ensured that cybersecurity experts got to work and improved security practices to deny unauthorized entry. It said the company took immediate steps to further secure its systems, and that they were currently in the audit process reconfiguring security monitoring practices. Avis notified law enforcement of the breach and is working to shore up wider cyber defences.
